The surrounding area is home to numerous hiking trails, for example to the Gilfenklamm gorge. Accessible for over 100 years, the gorge offers breathtaking views down onto thundering waterfalls – a natural spectacle not to be missed.
Mountain bikers, too, will get their money's worth in our region. Just ask us for the best routes – we're happy to advise you.
At the high ropes course in Ladurns or while rafting on the river Eisack, you can put your courage to the test. And when it's time to unwind, the Balneum in Sterzing invites you to relax with its indoor pool and beautiful sauna area.
Culture
Visit one of the most beautiful castles in South Tyrol: Wolfsthurn Castle in Mareit. Today the castle houses the Museum of Hunting and Fishing, which offers an insight into hunting folk art and the history of Wolfsthurn across two exhibitions. The tour also leads you through the castle's original, fully furnished staterooms.
At the Ridnaun Schneeberg Mining World, the highest-altitude mine in Europe, you'll experience the hard and dangerous work of the miners up close. After the guided tour through the show tunnels, you can even take part in an underground excursion in full gear.
